WHAT IS rise620?
We believe it's more fun to do life together.
Rise 620 is a place where students in grades 6-12
experience a great environment on Sunday mornings where we
hang out, play games, make new friends, and worship God together.
Teens will develop a real relationship with God and discover their purpose with Christ, while being equipped to rise above the intense challenges and daily distractions facing them day-to-day.
Rise 620 is the Youth Ministry of Word of Faith International Christian Center
where Bishop Keith A. Butler is Pastor.
WHO WE ARE
Pastor Joel Jenkins was born and raised a preacher’s kid in a Christian family in metro-Detroit. While visiting Word of Faith at the age of 14, he made a decision to make Jesus Christ the Lord of his life. Pastor Joel’s passion for teaching young people began when he was just a teenager himself helping his younger cousins navigate homework and life.
He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Upon graduation, he served as a schoolteacher for 5 years and the Youth Leader at his local church. During that time, he met his wife, Minister Kristina Jenkins. Pastor Joel and Minister Kristina are the proud parents of Andrew, Austin, and Alyssa.
Pastor Joel is a 2014 graduate of the Pistis School of Ministry and has previously served as Youth Pastor at Faith4Life Church in Dallas, TX, as well as Pastoral Care Minister and Church Online Pastor here at Word of Faith. He is a “sneakerhead” who enjoys working out, music, literally all sports, teaching and sharing God’s Word, and helping young people find their place in the world.
